A resident of Chandrapur, Maharashtra, Deyanesh Shinde relocated to Kota five years back to prepare for IIT, his forever dream. There he joined his elder sister and mother who had changed base earlier to prepare for his sister’s MBBS pursuit. Today, not only is his sister in her final year, reaching the completion of her MBBS journey, Dyanesh is one of the 20 candidates who has scored a perfect 100 percentile on his first attempt and made his parents extremely proud!

Deyanesh will now only be concentrating on JEE Advanced. In an interview with the press, he said, “Self-study and guidance from the coaching have led to this success.”

His mother informed the press that Dyanesh had always aspired to join the IITs and become an engineer from an early age. He readily moved to Kota to seek the best training in pursuit of his lifelong ambition. She also said that Dinesh aspires to take up Computer science Engineering or Aerospace Engineering as his major.

Deyanesh’s parents always knew their kid would score well, but scoring a full hundred percentile was a sweet revelation. Deyanesh can now, however, put all his concentration on JEE advanced as he wouldn’t have to prepare for the second session of JEE anymore. “The focus will now be initially to appear for board exams and then JEE-Advanced,” said his parents. The National Testing Agency declared the results on 6th February 2023.

Chirag Gupta, the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2021 topper from Ahmedabad has miraculously aced the management exam through online learning and minus any books or notes. He is a final year research student of the BS-MS course at the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune.

A semester project on water poverty made him delve into the issue comprehensively and research on the subject of water crisis which is not paid much attention. Though he cleared the IIT JEE Advanced too, but his interest in the research field impelled him to join IISER. Being an average student in academics and an avid chess player, he cleared exams for the top technical institutes through continuous efforts.

For his CAT 2021 preparations, he completely relied on online learning material and YouTube videos. His preparation strategy did not include studying from any books or handwritten notes. He managed to get 100 percentile in a short duration of a few months by solving 4 to 5 mock tests every week and self-studying with dedicated efforts.

Tribal students from Maharashtra’s remote villages have scripted success in this year’s NEET 2021. Many tribal students from Gadchiroli and Melghat districts have passed the recently conducted National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) 2021 and would soon join the medical colleges for undergraduate degree courses in medicine.

Suraj Pungati (19), a native of Gadchiroli’s Nagargunda village is ecstatic by his own performance as it was beyond his expectations; he scored 378 out of 720 in NEET. He is the first person from his village to have cracked the NEET.

He has been a brilliant student throughout his academics by securing 92 % marks in high school board exams in 2019. Another trailblazer Sawan Shilaskar (21) from a small village Ghota in Melghat region of Amaravati district, also from a marginal farming family has achieved 294 score out of 720 in NEET.

The journey for both the students has not been easy because of the limited resources, but as it’s said there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. An NGO called Lift For Upliftment (LFU) has been organising free coaching classes run by MBBS students and doctors in Pune. The NGO teaches underprivileged and marginalised students who cannot afford costly private tuitions.

Every year many students from the NGO clear NEET, including a few from tribal communities of Maharashtra. Many of the LFU pass outs are now studying in medical colleges.

Directorate of Medical and Research, Haryana (DMER)will soon bring up the NEET 2021 cut-off list for Haryana after all the admission process are finally over. The cut-off will be released separately for the all-India quota (AIQ) seats and also for the state quota seats. Sadly, the number mentioned as cut-off is the last rank that candidates must obtain at any cost to get admission into the MBBS or BDS courses.

Besides, DMER is responsible for conducting the state counselling process for 85% of seats in government as well as 100% seats in both private medical or dental colleges of the state. Some of the very crucial factors that are considered while determining the cut-off such as the difficulty level of the exam, number of candidates applying for admission and total number of seats present etc.

NEET cut-off for 15% AIQ seats will be out by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) on its official website. The cut-off will include the all India rank of the candidate along with the college or course allotted to all the students.

DMER, Haryana is the authority responsible for conducting the counselling and releasing the cut-off for college admissions. The cut-off will be released category wise. Also, candidates are required to participate in the state counselling process too for admission to the state quota seats.

In addition, it is important to know that cut-off varies each year, however, previous year’s cutoff is also offered to the students to have a rough idea about their chances of getting their dream college. Given below is the cut off list for last year.
