]]> Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy announced that the territorial administration would cover the entire tuition fees for students from government schools who are enrolling in undergraduate medical courses in the Union Territory for the current academic year. According to the Chief Minister, this scheme is applicable to students who have finished their schooling in government-run institutions and have successfully passed the NEET examination. In the undergraduate medical courses in Puducherry, 10 percent of the seats would be reserved for students from government schools.

According to CM N Rangasamy, the government would ask the colleges not to insist students pay the tuition fees as it would be borne by the territorial administration. Admission to professional courses in the Union Territory is granted through the Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC), which selects students.
