Kamala Nehru College initially offered courses in humanities but later the commerce stream was added. Today, KNC has 12 flourishing departments offering courses in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce and Mathematics. Each department has highly qualified and competent faculty. The faculty engages in constant improvisation in pedagogical practices and teaching methodologies to optimize curriculum delivery and maintain a consistently high standard of education. Interactive teaching approach is used to ensure that every student participates in class discussions. Seminars, workshops and other co-curricular activities are organized throughout the year. Experts of national and international repute are invited for academic deliberations and engagements. Use of ICT techniques and e-learning by students is encouraged. The students of each department with guidance from the faculty also publish their annual magazine/newsletter, which provides a platform to share articles on thought provoking issues, research, and latest developments in the field. The highlight of the year for each department is the Annual Department Day, marked with academic and co-curricular activities that also witnesses participation from across colleges and universities.
